Hi, I’m Geeb, a Freelance WordPress CMS Developer,
and I’d love to help create a website that fits you!
3 Reasons to Hire Me
-
Personality
-
The Story
Too often businessmen and women have to trudge through the freelance muck. Posting jobs and careers on job search sites can be a painstaking hassle, and usually yield no positive return. You know what I am talking about–flooded in-boxes from potential clients, spam, broken English, or just flat out unprofessional resumes. I want you to know that I am not one of “those” prospects.
-
The Code Zombie
I am not a “code zombie”. I have a personality and I want to get to know you. Communication is the name of the game, and nothing kills a project more than a rogue developer. As a possible client, I want to talk to you over the phone, get to know you face-to-face if possible, and become comfortable before a project initiates. I consider myself a charismatic guy, but I also work hard. In other words, I know how to code, but I can sit down and have a conversation about it, too! -
Suggestions and Feedback
I have spent most of my college life sitting through critiques as any practicing artist would. This experience has allowed me to take harsh criticism, but also means I’m not afraid to voice my opinion too. I want clients to get the most out of my services and I know when to speak up. Being a Freelance Developer has given me insight on how to get the most out of a site. You can trust me because I trust you! Remember, I am always open to suggestions.
-
Social Butterfly
While I do have a Masters and I did graduate with a 3.9 (yes, I can brag), I still know how to be social. I did not spend my entire college career with my head in a book or in front of a computer screen. Again, I love being around people. Whether it’s talking, problem solving, and just getting to know one another, I would love the opportunity to be a close colleague or even a friend. It may sound a bit cheesy, but I guess I can be a cheesy guy.

Skills
While I may have a great deal of knowledge in Web Development/design (HTML5, CSS3, PHP), Photoshop, Illustrator, Graphic Design, Video, and Audio, WordPress development is definitely my strength. Working at ARS Interactive, and completing dozens of freelance projects, I am more than qualified to work for you. I have the experience of working on a large team as well as completing projects on my own. I tend to adapt to any work environment and I am a fast learner.
As a Front-End developer I have experience with with other Content Management Systems other than WordPress. I have worked with IBM’s Accelerator, teamSite, and Fry’s OCP Site Manager—as well as other open source technologies like Drupal, Magento and Joomla. Again, WordPress is my strength so this hire me page focuses mostly on WP CMS.
Below, I will break down my abilities as a WordPress Developer. However, do not hesitate to ask me about my other multimedia skills.
-
Custom Themes
Development usually begins with the default Twenty-Eleven theme. With custom code that includes conditionals, plugins, and other hacks, there is no limit to what you want your WordPress theme can do. Twenty-Eleven also uses HTML5, but includes some cool javaScript to reformat the HTML tags in order to serve it to older versions of IE. Simply, a solid “backbone” theme
-
e-Commerce
I have experience with various WordPress e-commerce plugins. No shop is too difficult to develop. If needed, I can restyle them, too.
-
Custom Post Types
With WordPress 3.0, developers should be using Custom Post Types, Pages, and Taxonomies to make WordPress a full featured Content Management System. This is not always necessary on every site I develop, but is always a notable option.
-
Advanced Custom Fields
With custom fields, WordPress can attach an endless amount of data to a post. This might include images, external URL’s, additional thumbnails, form data, and much more. WordPress + Custom Fields stands in as a custom MySQL database. Simple, quick, and always easy to use.
-
Log-ins/Administration
Most sites have default user roles and at least 3 more levels of access. Most WordPress sites that are community driven require alterations on user roles and privileges. Remember, be a facilitator of data creation, you do not always have to be a sole author. This requires careful consideration of user powers.
-
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
After reading up on Google’s guides and Yoast’s (WordPress SEO Guru) numerous WordPress SEO guides, I have become proficient at WordPress SEO. With some custom code, and plugins that automate SEO friendly content, your site will receive natural traffic flow from Google. After a few months, I guarantee that a majority of your traffic will come from search engines.
-
Optimization for Faster Loads
Optimizing site loads are extremely important. A faster site always generates more traffic. I have made this a primary concern and I even wrote up an Optimization Guide on my blog. With these steps (and more) I can reduce your site loads to around 300kb.
-
Social Feeds and Buttons
Want to display your Facebook and twitter posts on your homepage? No problem! Need social share icons to display at the top of every post? No Problem! I use social aggregators to combine (or not) social feeds and display them as links. I have this working on the top-right corner of my site. I also use ShareThis for all of my social buttons. They are the more robust and reliable social buttons out there. It only took me months of trial and error with other products until I found this one. Trust me, it is the best!

Hey Chris!
Just checked out your website and it is awesome!!
I’d love to talk to you about a great opportunity I have available for a client of ours in downtown Chicago that I think you’d be interested in!
Let me know if you are available!
Geeber,
I figured I would share my nickname of Beaver I received in High School. Anyway, we have a lot web Development projects at the moment, both downtown and burbs(Buffalo Grove more specifically). They range from small to large clients and front front end to back end development. I would like to touch base, so we can partner up at some point.
Cheers
